Overview
Valeo Technology partnered with Moodsonic to deliver a suite of bespoke soundscapes for Sydney Catholic Schools’ long-standing head office in the heart of Sydney. The headquarters serves as a multifunctional space  a working office, a spiritual hub, a place of relaxation, and a site for events and entertainment and also stands as a physical showcase of the quality and experience delivered across their network of 150 schools.

Design Objectives
The project had three core goals:

1.Align with the interior’s biophilic and wellbeing-focused design

2.Create clearly defined zones aligned with activity type using dynamic soundscaping

3.Enhance the immersive qualities of the space, reflecting both purpose and place

The result is a workplace that not only functions efficiently but also supports cognitive performance, emotional wellbeing, and spiritual reflection.

Activity-Based Zoning Through Sound
The space follows an activity-based working model, with zones dedicated to focused, quiet tasks as well as collaborative and energetic work. The soundscaping content plan was tailored to support this approach:

•Focus zones feature calming soundscapes that aid concentration and reduce speech intelligibility.

•Collaboration zones incorporate more stimulating and uplifting audio, designed to energize and foster connection.

Bespoke & Regionally-Inspired Soundscapes
Moodsonic’s Australian soundscape library provided a strong foundation for creating locally resonant environments. One standout is the Rottnest Island soundscape, which brings natural cues from the Western Australian reserve into open work areas. These soundscapes are programmed with circadian variations, ensuring they evolve throughout the day to support natural energy cycles.

In addition to regional content, custom soundscapes were commissioned for unique areas of the headquarters. The on-site chapel, for example, features a bespoke Gregorian chant soundscape that shifts with the liturgical calendar, adding a deeply contextual and seasonal layer to the spiritual experience.
